What a difference a word makes. 2 Peter 1:5 says that we must supply a variety of spiritual disciplines. Does that mean our spiritual maturity is a result of our personal strength? Do we need to figure out strategies to be more self-controlled or loving? Is our success or failure up to us alone? What, and how much, do we actually contribute to our spiritual lives? These questions and more drove my study into everything implied by a single word. Join me as I walk you through how I studied this passage, what I discovered, and the challenge I faced when I understood what God inspired Peter to write.
