Brain Fog vs. Creativity – Explaining My Slower Content

Approximate Reading Time: 1 minute

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t published a written article in a while. I’ve been waiting for the situation to improve, but for now I figure I should give a brief update on why the content has slowed down.

In January I took a brief break due to my normal health issues. Then, a few weeks ago, my house got Covid. While everyone has recovered well, I’ve been struggling with an intense amount of fatigue and “brain fog.” My thinking feels consistently impaired, I frequently feel like I haven’t slept in days, and mental tasks very quickly wipe me out.

That doesn’t do well for a blog that focuses on taking big ideas and explaining them in a way that makes sense. Writing is a creative art, but my recovery has made creativity either exhausting or nearly impossible. With the other responsibilities I have (two younger girls, homeschool, teaching locally, and general life requirements), the mental clarity and energy required to write are more than I’m able to manage at the moment.

The podcast will still continue since I have a bit of content stored up for that (and praise God for leading me to record my entire abortion series a few days before we all got sick!). I will also re-post some older articles many of you may not have seen yet.

For now, I ask that you pray for my recovery as I would love to get back to writing in the next few weeks.
